Apple Pie Cookies

Three Stars
Apple Pie Cookies
Aldi’s Apple Pie Cookies come from the same line as there excellent Brownie Cookies. Like them, they are a rectangular biscuit with a crunchy texture and buttery pastry flavour as a base. However, unlike the chocolate of the Brownie Cookies, these come packed full of chunks of apple and the biscuit is flavoured with cinnamon rather than cocoa.

Sadly the flavours used for these biscuits are poor. They taste rather unrealistic and chemically and the small chunks of fruit do little in either the flavour or texture stakes. The biscuits also overwhelm you with the taste of cinnamon, which masks any other flavour that the biscuits have. The end result is a rather boring biscuit that is inferior in every way to its Brownie Cookie cousin.
